This slick pack of solar power is a very neat take anywhere power station. It clips apart easily, you just affix the two solar panel wings to the main unit and it'll soak up the sun turning it into stored power for when you next need it. Once charged, the Freeloaders' internal battery can power an iPod for 18hours, a mobile phone for 44 hours, PSP for 2.5 hours a PDA for 22 hours and much, much more! The central unit can also be charged up from your PC by USB cable if the sun's looking a little on the shy side. It comes in either silver or a rather fetching steely pink with a whole clutch of adaptors for all your gizmos. It can even be connected to the Freeloader Battery Charger to keep your AA's and AAA's happy. It's small, slim and light, so easy to keep in your pocket or bag, and won't weigh you down on your travels.

Street Mice Car Shaped MouseStreet Mice Car Shaped Mouse

Living life in the slow lane? Bring yourself up to speed with a wireless super car mouse. Yes, they're really quite silly, but despite ourselves we can't help but love these mice. Aside from the fact that they're good quality optical mice (how anyone can use a track-ball mouse is beyond us - all that slow inaccurate scrolling, and fluff in your socket - if you'll pardon the expression) you also don't get stuck with one of those blasted old mouse mats which are ghastly.

iPod Alarm Clocks iPod Alarm Clocks

We all need some sort of alarm to claw ourselves from the depths of sleep, but for many of us an incessant digital beep is not the sound of choice. In steps the iPod Alarm Clock to save the day. Now you can easily set your alarm to wake you with whatever your favourite song of the moment is - though perhaps not 'Wake me up before you go,go' - there are limits after all. You can easily set the alarm on your iPod to wake you with a specific Playlist, Album or Song, the Alarm Clock has an all important nine minute 'Snooze' (i.e. leave me the hell alone, this dream is more important than punctuality) function, and it will even charge your iPod while you sleep. It looks like a funked up traditional alarm clock, and the speakers are in the 'bells' on the top of the unit. It's mains powered, so you'll have no flat battery or recharging problems, and we reckon it's the alarm clock for the iPod generation. Wake up to something more tuneful than a bell or a beep, and considerably less depressing than the news.

The Digital Alcohol Breath Tester is a great gadget that will let you know if you're too piddled to be left in charge of a moving vehicle. This pocket-sized breathalyser is incredibly easy to use, even if you have drunk yourself insensiwobble (which is two drinks more than insensible) - just blow over the sensor for 3-5 seconds while the built-in timer counts down, then read your test results from the nifty built in LCD. If it reads between 0.05 or 0.08 BAC* the alcohol tester will beep and display a caution symbol to show that you are dangerously close to or over the limit**. If you test between 0.08 and 0.19% the LCD will display a warning symbol letting you know that driving is most definitely off the cards for the evening and probably most of the following day too.

Developed by the Swedish Defence Department (small but perfectly formed no doubt), the Light My Fire Firesteel is simply staggering. Whenever you're in the great outdoors (or if you often battle with your fireplace), just reach for your Firesteel and you'll never need - or want to use, frankly - a lighter or matches ever again. Working even in the wet or cold, a slow and easy 'strike' across this magic little steel produces a huge spark up to 3,000°C! We couldn't believe how much spark this little marvel put out - it's a much brighter spark than anyone round here, that's for sure.
